Dileviathan: We Are the Guardians
The Dileviathan is a concept coined by political scientist and author Asma Mhalla (Cyberpunk: The New Totalitarian System, Seuil 2026). It merges digital and Leviathan to describe the alliance of Big State and Big Tech: a hybrid power that no longer operates through law but through the architecture of systems that capture our attention, shape our perceptions, and short-circuit our capacity to think for ourselves.
This novel transposes these ideas into a presidential France of 2027. It aims to be accessible, easy to read, designed to provoke thought without ever becoming tedious. The original goal was to popularize the sometimes complex concepts of technopolitics — so that everyone can understand the mechanisms at work behind the screen.
